The institution explained that the company does not hold valid access permits for the Red Electrica grid, as they have expired. This technical deficiency prevents the approval of the project as it fails to meet current administrative requirements.
This is not the first time the company has received an administrative refusal in the Cantábrica Alavesa region. Previously, the Provincial Council of Álava denied access and connection to the Solaria-Zierbena Solar 3 project for similar reasons.
The Aiaraldeko Mendiak Bizirik platform has welcomed the decision but remains critical of the arguments used by the Department of Industry. The group claims the administration has avoided addressing deeper issues such as environmental impact, urban planning permits, and territorial incompatibility.
Meanwhile, the company has filed an appeal in court. Solaria argues that the expiration of the permits is due to delays in the Basque Government's management, and aims to obtain the Environmental Impact Statement through legal channels to proceed with its projects.
