The PNV does not agree with the proposal presented by the municipal government regarding the Areta Cultural Center. The party argues that the management of cultural and social activities of the Areta Cultural Group must be clearly separated from the model linked to the operation of the tavern.
The PNV stated, "Community management of the space and hospitality activity are distinct and complementary issues, requiring different tools. Mixing both in a single formula creates uncertainty and could lead to unfair comparisons with other municipal and hospitality spaces, in addition to causing financial harm to the K.I.K.E. Areta Cultural Group association itself."
In the PNV's opinion, the concession agreement proposed by EH Bildu requires further work. "It's not just about opening a venue; it's about creating a stable, participatory project with a future. This requires planning, dialogue, and political will," they added.
Furthermore, councilwoman Maite Cortazar defended her party's management during the previous term. "The PNV managed to recover the ownership of the building, which is essential for moving towards a management model open to citizens and their associations. We also promote accessibility improvements, space adaptations, and the installation of a kitchen to enable the tavern service," explained the PNV representative.
After many years, and following a change in opinion among municipal technicians, the government team has been taking steps in recent months to permanently regulate the Areta Cultural Center.
