For two days, Amurrio became a meeting point for music, culture, and coexistence, attracting people from Amurrio, Euskadi, and various parts of Spain. Culture Councilor Naiara Barallobre emphasized that "Aiara Fest has once again demonstrated Amurrio's capacity to host high-quality cultural events that can attract a diverse audience and create an excellent atmosphere for coexistence and participation."
The program brought together artists and bands of various styles and origins, offering a diverse cultural proposal that allowed for the combination of established names with new musical projects. This variety helped attract audiences of different ages and sensibilities, consolidating the festival as a benchmark cultural event in the region.
The council particularly highlighted the participation of the Amurrio residents themselves, who accounted for approximately half of the attendees. This response demonstrates the festival's deep roots in the town and its ability to engage local citizens in a quality cultural offering.
Furthermore, the Council wished to acknowledge the atmosphere experienced over the two days, focusing on the coexistence, respect, and participation of people from various generations. The presence of families and the event's approachable nature reinforced the commitment to an accessible, inclusive, and territorially-linked festival model. The festival has also helped project the image of Amurrio and Aiaraldea beyond our immediate surroundings, showcasing the region's significant potential for hosting important cultural events.
The Council wishes to thank the organizers of Aiara Fest for their work, as well as the support of all the institutions, professionals, volunteers, and individuals involved who made the event's development possible. The exemplary behavior of the audience and citizen involvement throughout the weekend are also recognized.
“"Culture is a fundamental tool for strengthening social cohesion, revitalizing our towns, and creating opportunities. Festivals like Aiara Fest help position Amurrio on the cultural map of Euskadi, reinforcing our identity as an open, dynamic, and culturally committed community."
The Amurrio City Council will continue to support initiatives that contribute to enriching the municipality's cultural life, stimulating local activity, and strengthening Amurrio's role as a hub for culture and artistic creation.
