According to the latest resolution published by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in the BOE, the fleet from Bermeo will manage a total of 42,903 tons of yellowfin tuna, keeping the same levels as the previous campaign.
Regarding bigeye tuna, the catch limit has been set at 14,792 tons, compared to the 12,862 tons of the previous year. This increase reflects the strategic importance of these vessels, which operate under the Spanish flag in international waters.
The quota distribution involves major industry players such as Inpesca, Albacora, Pevasa, and Echebastar. These companies continue to consolidate Bermeo as a key hub for tropical tuna fishing in the Indian Ocean.
