A neighbor in Mundaka reported hearing "quite a commotion" during the night, following the discovery of a well-known local chef's body in his home. The Ertzaintza has launched an investigation.

The incident has shocked the coastal town of Mundaka. The body of Sergio González, a renowned chef from the Biscay region, was found in his residence at number 3, Jose Mari Egileor street, on Sunday May 31. The Ertzaintza (Basque Police) has an ongoing investigation to clarify the circumstances of the death, confirmed sources from the Basque Government's Department of Security.
Although the body showed visible signs of violence, investigators are proceeding with caution and keeping all lines of inquiry open. The event has generated significant public interest among Mundaka residents, where such incidents are uncommon.

The results of the autopsy will provide a more precise determination of the causes and circumstances of the death. The body was transferred to the Basque Institute of Legal Medicine for forensic examination.
The alarm was raised when Sergio González stopped responding to calls from family and friends. His phone was either switched off or out of coverage, which caused concern among his acquaintances. Unable to contact him, several friends went to his home, where they discovered the chef's lifeless body and immediately alerted emergency services and the Ertzaintza.
