The summer cultural and leisure offering will feature a new and attractive incentive in the streets of Gernika-Lumo. With the aim of revitalizing urban spaces and fostering neighborly encounters, the City Council has launched 'Gernika-Lumo Uda Fest'. This innovative proposal will bring completely free concerts to various neighborhoods and squares across the municipality over four consecutive weekends, significantly expanding the summer cultural program and promoting the enjoyment of public spaces through diverse, accessible musical programming designed for all audiences.
The festival will officially commence on July 11 at 9:30 PM with a performance by the group Mirua, opening the series on San Bartolome street in the Errenteria neighborhood. Subsequently, the music will move on July 18, at the same time, to Adolfo Urioste street, where the band Puro Relajo will perform live next to the iconic Fountain of Mercury. Likewise, the third event on the festive calendar will take place on Saturday, July 25, at 9:30 PM, featuring Gozategi, who will get attendees dancing in San Cristobal square.
Furthermore, the closing day will be held on August 1 in San Juan Ibarra square, strategically combining popular tradition with musical rhythms. The events will begin at 7:30 PM with a colorful Giants parade that will tour various streets of the town, while at 9:30 PM, the indefatigable Xaibor from Gernika will take the stage to provide the musical finale for this first edition.
As highlighted by the mayor, José María Gorroño, this festival is born with the intention of continuity and aims to establish a quality cultural offering that reaches every corner of the municipality.
