Bizkaia eagerly awaited the return of Amaia Montero to the stage, and thousands of people have filled the entrances to the Bizkaia Arena just an hour before the concert began. Emotion and nostalgia dominated the evening, despite the rain.
The queues were accompanied for much of the afternoon by storms and downpours, forcing many attendees to wait under umbrellas and raincoats. Although the rain subsided an hour before the concert started, the bad weather did not deter fans who had been waiting for hours to enter.
Amidst impromptu chants and photos for remembrance, the anticipation of seeing Amaia back on stage was evident. A young attendee, already hoarse, commented that she “did not expect at all” the singer's return.

The excitement was also accompanied by fulfilled promises. Several friends traveled from Galicia, assuring that they could not miss this event. “We've had the tickets since they came out” and “we would have come no matter where the concert was,” they said while waiting to enter the Bizkaia Arena. When asked which song they wanted to hear tonight, the group began to sing Rosas in unison, one of the band's most recognizable anthems.
La Oreja de Van Gogh will offer two consecutive concerts this weekend in Barakaldo, both sold out, in a return with Amaia Montero that has made the BEC one of the year's major musical events.
