Gipuzkoa faces another warm night, with the Jaizkibel station recording its highest nighttime minimum at 29.9ºC. Meanwhile, temperatures dropped in other locations, prompting the cancellation of San Juan bonfires.
The Euskalmet station in Jaizkibel (Lezo) barely dipped below 30ºC (29.9ºC at 3:30 AM) due to the south-southeast wind. In contrast, Zizurkil, which had experienced high temperatures previously, saw a cooler night with a minimum of 22.2ºC at 6:30 AM.
Overall, nighttime minimum temperatures have decreased in several parts of the territory compared to the previous night. In Arrasate, the minimum was nearly 4.5ºC lower, reaching 18.7ºC. Stations in Belauntza, Araxes, Ordizia, Agauntza, and Amundarain also recorded drops of at least three degrees.
Gipuzkoa remains under a red alert. Euskalmet anticipates a Tuesday with mostly clear skies, some high clouds, and developing clouds in the afternoon, with a possibility of isolated scattered thunderstorms, particularly inland.
The continued light to moderate east-southeast wind is expected to maintain temperatures similar to Sunday's levels. The arrival of an east-northeast wind on the Cantabrian slope might offer some relief in the afternoon.
Due to the high temperatures, numerous municipalities in Gipuzkoa have cancelled the traditional San Juan bonfires scheduled for Tuesday night. Others have opted for symbolic fires or burning small branches, exclusively in official events.
Public authorities are repeatedly reminding citizens to take preventive measures to protect their health, including staying hydrated, avoiding direct sun exposure, and adapting indoor spaces.
