Bizkaia firefighters rescued a 15-year-old teenager on Friday who had fallen from a wall at Gorrondatxe-Azkorri beach.

Bizkaia firefighters and the Getxo Municipal Police responded on Friday to an incident at Gorrondatxe-Azkorri beach, where a 15-year-old boy fell from a wall and required assistance. Emergency services were alerted mid-afternoon after the minor slipped down the cliff face and sustained injuries.
The teenager fell onto rocky terrain in the area known as Túnel-Boka cove, a section of the beach that is not monitored by the lifeguard service.

The minor had sustained a blow to the head and a possible foot fracture, but his prognosis was favorable.

The young person's location and the extent of his injuries necessitated the deployment of an Ertzaintza helicopter for transport to a hospital for treatment. After being stabilized at the scene of the fall, and due to the impossibility of ground evacuation, the teenager was hoisted into the helicopter.
