A 90-year-old person died this Tuesday in a senior residence in Bizkaia from heatstroke, as reported by the Basque Government's Department of Health.

A 90-year-old person died this Tuesday in a senior residence in Bizkaia from heatstroke, according to the Basque Government's Department of Health. Temperatures exceeded 42 degrees Celsius in some parts of the territory on that day.
Osakidetza's Emergency Service attended to 44 people by 7:00 PM on Tuesday as a consequence of the high temperatures recorded in Euskadi. The ages of those attended range between 10 and 90 years old.
Of these 44 individuals, 20 were treated on-site and discharged, while another 24 had to be transferred by ambulance to a hospital or health center for follow-up. Thirty of the attended cases occurred in Bizkaia and fourteen in Gipuzkoa.
