The Provincial Tax Authority of Bizkaia has managed 1,710 appointments for telephone tax returns within six days of launching the new service, filling 96.41% of the available slots.

This new service, available until May 20 for booking appointments, allows taxpayers to schedule their turn via the Bizkaia Provincial Council's website or by calling the Renta25 campaign's telephone number. Upon booking, a date and a two-hour time slot are assigned, during which Tax Authority staff contact the taxpayer.
Telephone assistance is provided by qualified professionals, ensuring a personalized and high-quality service, similar to that offered in the 12 Tax Authority offices. This expands the options for filing tax returns, providing a convenient and accessible alternative for citizens.

"It is important to cancel these appointments in advance if attendance is not possible, so that other people can take advantage of those slots."

In the first month of the campaign, a total of 353,558 declarations have been submitted, representing a 17.39% increase compared to the same period last year. The Tax Authority has already returned 352.3 million euros to Bizkaia taxpayers. The digital method remains the most used for filing returns (79.05%), followed by telephone (17.36%) and in-person (3.59%).
However, the Provincial Tax Authority has noted that approximately 40 appointments go unfilled daily in the offices, despite taxpayers being reminded of their assigned date and time via SMS. Last year, around 3,500 appointments were not attended throughout the campaign. Therefore, the institution emphasizes the importance of canceling appointments in advance if one cannot attend, to allow other citizens to benefit.
