The historic territory of Bizkaia is currently experiencing a significant heatwave, with temperatures surpassing 38 degrees in numerous municipalities. The Basque Government's Department of Security has activated a yellow alert for Saturday, effective from 13:00 to 20:00, due to the forecast of extreme high temperatures.
By 16:00 this Saturday, temperatures above 35 degrees have been recorded in several areas. The highest reading was registered at the Sodupe-Cadagua station, reaching precisely 38.5 degrees, according to the Basque Meteorological Agency, Euskalmet.
Based on information published by Euskalmet, other locations within the historic territory are also experiencing temperatures above 36 degrees. The highest readings were recorded at the Jarralta station with 37.6 degrees, followed by Balmaseda (36.6 degrees), Zalla (36.4), and Orozko (36.3).
