Author Asier Basurto is embarking on a month-long presentation tour across the Basque Country to introduce his book 'Turismoa. Desazkundera bidaia'. The tour kicks off this Tuesday, May 19th, in Bilbao, followed by visits to Donostia, Pamplona, Sopela, and Gasteiz. The initiative aims to foster reflections and critiques on tourism models through discussions with local stakeholders.
The first event will take place in Bilbao at the Zirika! community center on May 19th at 7:00 PM. Eritz Mendizabal from the group Alde Zaharreko Bihotzean will also participate. Basurto will explain the core ideas of the book, after which Mendizabal will share his perspective on the tourism situation in Bilbao and its Old Town.
Later that week, on Friday, May 22nd, the book will be presented in Donostia, in the Amara Berri neighborhood, at the Ilunki cultural association, starting at 7:00 PM.
On Tuesday, May 26th, Basurto will be in Pamplona at the Karrikiri association for a presentation at 7:00 PM. This session will be moderated by Gorka Peñagarikano, a journalist from ARGIA and the book's editor.
On Thursday, June 11th, the tour reaches Sopela. The presentation will be held at 7:00 PM at the Larrabasterra neighborhood center, with the participation of members from the group Sukar Horia.
The final scheduled date, for now, is June 23rd in Gasteiz, at Liburutopia, beginning at 5:00 PM. This presentation is organized as part of the festivities in the Old Town of Gasteiz, in collaboration with the collective Auzoan Bizi.
We aim to foster discussion about the book and its ideas, alongside local stakeholders.
