Representatives of the Popular Party have argued in Barakaldo that the Left Bank must regain its role as an economic engine for Bizkaia, reversing the ongoing deindustrialization process.

During a visit to the aeronautical company ITP, leaders of the PP in Bizkaia and a member of the European Parliament criticized current policies, stating that the lack of a clear commitment to industry has weakened the regional economy. They argued that deindustrialization has led to a significant gap in labor income within the area.
Data provided shows that while industry accounted for 25% of Bizkaia's GDP in the 1990s, the figure has currently fallen to 16.7%, and stands at just 9.8% in the Left Bank. According to the party, this situation has resulted in lower value-added jobs and increased labor precariousness.
To reverse this trend, they have advocated for a change in direction that includes reducing energy costs and bureaucratic hurdles, aligning with European strategies that view industry as a strategic sector for competitiveness.
