The «Mi Dulce Guerrero» association has organized the fifth edition of its solidarity zumbathon in Irun, which will take place at the Uranzu fronton. This event, scheduled for May 17, aims to get hundreds of people dancing to raise funds for type 1 diabetes research. Organizers note that people inquire about the event's date well in advance, indicating its established success.
“"We continue our fight so that research does not stop."
The event offers a fun and sporty morning while contributing to the eradication of type 1 diabetes. The organizers have expressed great satisfaction with the results of previous editions, highlighting the high public participation. They anticipate a similar turnout this year.
For this fifth edition, a dozen instructors have been recruited to set the pace. Some are new to the initiative, while others have participated in previous zumbathons. The instructors come from Irun, as well as from Donostia, Bilbao, and Navarra. The «Mi Dulce Guerrero» association has extended its gratitude to all instructors, as well as to the businesses and shops that have contributed. They also thanked the volunteer group of Civil Protection of Irun for their continued support.
The program for the fifth zumbathon will begin at 09:45 with the opening of the Uranzu fronton doors and a photocall with the event's mascot. Following the presentation, from 10:00 to 13:00, zumba for all ages will set the day's rhythm. Participants are not required to dance for the full three hours and can join in as they wish. After the zumbathon concludes, all attendees will pose for a group photo, and a prize draw will be held as a closing event. Participation in this draw is through special tickets for children up to 12 years old, costing 1.50 euros, available at the ticket office.
