The Command Boards and the Traditional Alarde of Irun have issued a joint appeal to citizens to experience the Alarde with serenity, tranquility, and respect after incidents on June 25th. During the event known as 'Arrancadilla', moments of tension occurred when several companies of the traditional Alarde coincided with those of the public Alarde, which was also holding rehearsals that day.
The boards emphasized that these days are very special for thousands of people and deserve to be enjoyed with coexistence and civility. They highlighted that in recent years, it has been demonstrated that these days can be celebrated responsibly, preventing provocations or confrontations from tarnishing a tradition important to Irun and its Alarde, stressing the need to preserve this exemplary behavior for future generations.
Furthermore, they encouraged everyone to enjoy the festival and to respect those who experience it differently, making respect and coexistence the protagonists. They also expressed gratitude for the behavior shown and the support received in the streets of Irun, demonstrating the city's will.
“"Irun deserves to enjoy itself, but above all, it deserves that this legitimate way of doing the Alarde be respected."
