This initiative seeks to emphasize the importance and value of everything that originates from the municipalities, under the slogan “We are the village: the value of the essential”. The new seal will be used to identify both products and services made in the rural sector of Álava, as well as to serve as a brand for any materials used in events.
It will be available for free use by companies, businesses, town councils, associations, and cuadrillas. Among the promoting entities behind this seal are Acoa, Cáritas, Cristianos Rurales de Álava, Gure Soroa, Red de Mujeres del Medio Rural, and UAGA.
“"For years, we have been calling society's attention to the intrinsic values of the rural environment on this May 15th."
The aesthetic intention of the seal stems from a shared idea, expressing that the rural environment is a way of life, not just a territory. The lines that construct the brand seek a balance and a union between villages, as they are not isolated lines but rather meet, cross, and support each other, “just as villages do”.
This San Isidro is set against a complex international and local backdrop. In a cycle of tension, conflict, and wars, and given the alarming state of the agricultural and livestock sector in Álava, the organizations have underscored the importance of villages. They consider it essential to return to the essentials, to what unites everyone: the land, nature, justice, and collective well-being. With this seal, they seek precisely that sense of belonging.
