The events occurred shortly before 11:00 AM on Saturday, when a patrol conducting citizen security duties received a communication from the Operations Center. They were instructed to go to the txozna area in the Abetxuko neighborhood, where a robbery had taken place and the alleged perpetrator was in sight.
Upon arrival, officers interviewed two women from the festival committee and their supervisor. They stated that they had previously observed the alleged thief acting suspiciously, leaving one of the txoznas with a balaclava and a bag full of bottles.
Subsequently, they were able to confirm that the door of one of the festive enclosures had been forced open and that several bottles of alcohol and 150 euros were missing. The officers also intercepted the man, who denied the facts; however, they found shoe prints that matched his sneakers, as well as fingerprints.
For the inspection, they requested the support of an investigation patrol. In a superficial search, they found the balaclava and a pair of scissors, which were later recognized as belonging to the affected txozna.
Likewise, after carrying out the appropriate procedures, the patrol located the bag with the stolen items in the man's home. Therefore, in view of all the evidence, he was arrested.
