Barakaldo City Council is set to request the incorporation of 11 new officers for its Local Police force in the upcoming Public Employment Offer (OPE). Late last week, the Governing Board approved an increase of six additional officers, expanding upon the initial request for five. This move signifies a further step by the industrial town to gradually enlarge its Local Police staff, thereby securing more resources to implement a community-oriented policing model within the city.
“The objective is to continue increasing police presence in streets and neighborhoods, strengthening citizen security and providing a more agile and effective response to the population's needs,” stated David Solla, the councilor for Human Resources.
Furthermore, the local institution in Barakaldo has also requested the Arkaute academy to incorporate five interim officers. These new additions would address the immediate needs of the force while the selection processes are underway. These five officers would cover four temporary absences and one existing vacancy within the staff.
