Aspe and Baiko Pilota Open Summer Season with San Fermín Four and a Half Tournament

The main summer pelota season kicks off with the San Fermín tournament, with the final scheduled for July 7th in Pamplona.

Aspe and Baiko Pilota have announced the San Fermín Four and a Half Tournament, which will kick off the summer pelota season. The final is scheduled for July 7th at the Navarra Arena fronton in Pamplona.

Aspe will open its elimination rounds this Friday at the Goizueta fronton with the match between local player Iker Salaberria and Biscayan Xabier Rekalde. This will be the firm's only thirty-second final match.
The winner will face Aitor Elordi in Zaldibar on June 21st, while the other bracket will open in Luzaide two days prior with the match between Darío and Alberdi II.
Peio Etxeberria, the current champion, will compete against the winner from Zaldibar in Hernani on June 25th. A day earlier, pelota returns to the Astelena fronton in Eibar for San Juan with the encounter between Javier Zabala and the survivor from Luzaide.
Ezkurdia will face the best player from Eibar in Altsasu on June 28th, and Altuna will do the same in Mungia against the winner from Hernani the following day.
Baiko Pilota, for its part, will begin its matches this Friday at the Mendibarren fronton in Berriatua, featuring Senar and Zubizarreta IV. A day later, in Orozko, Jaka will play against Amiano, the recent champion of the Manomanista Serie B.
In the round of sixteen, Artola will face the winner from Orozko (June 20th in Barañain), and Larrazabal will play against the best from Berriatua (June 21st in Muskiz).
The top seeds for Baiko Pilota will be Jon Ander Peña (reigning champion) and Laso. The former will compete against the winner from Muskiz on June 26th in Sestao, while the latter will face the winner from Barañain the next day in Gernika-Lumo.
The semifinals for both companies will be held on July 3rd at the Atano III fronton in Donostia.
