The procedure, scheduled for Tuesday morning, was suspended after around a hundred people gathered in front of the home from 9:30 AM to show support for the affected family and demand the suspension of the launch.
At 10 AM, the judicial delegation arrived with locksmiths. Union members then initiated negotiations with the delegation's representatives, which led to the announcement of the eviction's suspension.
“"Alokabide initiated the eviction procedure."
Upon hearing the news, the affected woman emerged from the house to applause and expressions of support, thanking those present for their solidarity. The eviction has not been cancelled but postponed, with a new date pending.
The union explained that the woman has lived in the social housing unit with her two children since 2009 and has favorable vulnerability reports. They denounced that after several months of being unable to pay rent, "Alokabide initiated the eviction procedure." They further highlighted the case's severity, noting that the woman has documented experiences of gender-based violence and vicarious trauma.
